WEEK 3 IS HERE!

I didn’t use caps lock. Shift key forever.

Week 3 of the 2025 college football season is already here and I can’t believe we’re basically a month into the season. Time is flying fast, folks.

We’ve already gotten the pleasure of watching a couple of Big 12 football games thanks to some Friday night scheduling. And we got some noteworthy sort of things to discuss there. Kansas State could not keep up with Arizona and the Midwestern variety of Wildcats might be in a bit of trouble right now.

K-State is now 1-3 on the season and bowl eligibility might not happen for a team that many expected to contend for the conference title this season. Meanwhile, Arizona is now 3-0, which is really impressive for a team that struggled last year.

Down in the Bayou City, we got to see Willie Fritz and his Houston Cougars continue their solid and impressive start to this season as they took down the Colorado Buffaloes, winning by 16 points, to advance to 3-0 on the season.

Now, what can we expect today?

College football schedule, week 3: What Big 12 games are on today, Saturday, September 13, 2025?

Here’s what today’s slate of Big 12 college football games looks like:

  • 11 a.m. - Samford Bulldogs vs. Baylor Bears - Waco, Texas
  • 2:30 p.m. - Oregon State Beavers vs. No. 21 Texas Tech Red Raiders - Lubbock, Texas
  • 2:30 p.m. - Pittsburgh Panthers vs. West Virginia Mountaineers - Morgantown, West Virginia
  • 3 p.m. - No. 14 Iowa State Cyclones vs. Arkansas State Red Wolves - Jonesboro, Arkansas
  • 7 p.m. - No. 21 Utah Utes vs. Wyoming Cowboys - Laramie, Wyoming
  • 7 p.m. - Abilene Christian Wildcats vs. TCU Horned Frogs - Fort Worth, Texas
  • 9:30 p.m. - Texas State Bobcats vs. Arizona State Sun Devils - Tempe, Arizona

It’s not as exciting as what we got a week ago, but there are some sneaky interesting games in here. I don’t expect Texas Tech to have any troubles with Oregon State, that should be a lopsided blowout. But Pitt vs. West Virginia? That could be something to keep an eye on.

Arguably the most interesting game of the day is late at night though. We’ve got GJ Kinne, who would be a great Big 12 head coach, leading his Texas State Bobcats to face off against an Arizona State team that is fresh off a loss against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Kinne is a great coach and has managed to win at a place that’s pretty difficult. And it’s worth noting that Texas State operates an offense that is similar to what the Bulldogs run (it’s another veer-and-shoot sort of system).

But, Kenny Dillingham and the Sun Devils will obviously be looking to bounce back from their disappointing showing in Starkville because a loss to Texas State would truly derail what could be an otherwise solid sort of season for Arizona State. It’s a game I plan on keeping up with (even if I have to watch it from my DVR at some point).
