College football is getting closer and closer and it seems like the folks in the Texas Tech athletics department are getting things set for Texas Tech football fans to be able to enjoy this coming season. One element of that centers around hospitality, promotions, and creating a great gameday atmosphere.
And as the Red Raiders get set for the 2025 college football season, it looks like Texas Tech will be setting up specific colors that they want fans to wear for the home games. A great example of that is the season kickoff when Texas Tech gets to face off against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. TTU fans are being asked to wear red for that matchup.
But what about the Kent State game?
Well, for the second home game of the 2025 college football season, Texas Tech is looking for fans to wear white.
Texas Tech Red Raiders requesting that TTU fans wear white when Kent State comes to Lubbock
This early in the season, with it still being effectively summer, fans won’t want to wear a dark color to go sit (and/or stand) outside in the sun for multiple hours at a time. So, yeah, it’s going to be hot. Please make sure you stay hydrated and cool off as much as you possibly can throughout the game.
Wearing white instead of red or black? I mean, that just seems like a bit of a no brainer, to be completely honest.
It also looks like the Red Raiders are having fans wear white as part of a promotion for this being the Agriculture Game. So, it’s serving a couple of purposes. Stay cool (relatively speaking) and celebrate agriculture. I can get on board with that.
Texas Tech and Kent State will face off against one another on September 6. And just a reminder, the football season will be here before you know it. The offseason is almost over, folks.
