Kansas State has the backbone of what makes a solid secondary against a spread offense: a highly-skilled, disciplined cornerback tandem.

Danzel McDaniel came on the Division I scene in quick fashion in 2014, as a high-intensity, hard-hitting cornerback that could help in run support too. His 5 tackles for loss and one sack were eye-popping stats for somebody who just came from the JUCO ranks, and had to learn quickly.

Morgan Burns plays the other corner position, and is just as capable in coverage. Dante Barnett was a Second-Team All-Big 12 safety, rounding out the secondary nicely. First-Team All-Big 12 defensive back Randall Evans will be missed in the defensive backfield, but the Wildcats have a solid foundation, and should have no problem putting together another solid secondary.
