No. 9: Iowa State

The Cyclones had a rough year in 2014 in terms of defense, with most of its problems coming from its linebacker corps, as the Cyclones were not very good against the run.

Paul Rhoads has named Jordan Harris to man the middle, with Levi Peters at the will linebacker, and Jarnor Jones playing a hybrid LB/NB role. Iowa State has an uncharacteristically solid secondary, which can help the front seven sell out more for the run.

If Iowa State plans on having much success this season, the linebackers will need to step up and be more of a force in the run game.
