No. 7 – 98-yard kickoff return TD in the Texas Bowl

The 2012 Texas Bowl between Texas Tech and Minnesota began with a long Minnesota drive that ended with a field goal. It took Texas Tech must less time to score, thanks to Jakeem Grant.

Catching the kick at the 2-yard line, Grant appeared headed right towards a gaggle of defenders. But instead of taking them on as many return men would do, Grant made a nifty side-step and was off to the races.

As you watch the video, notice two aspects of the play. First, on the side step, look at how Grant’s feet almost cross over one another which would make most player go down. Then, notice how quick Grant is able to reach a full-speed sprint.

Once Grant is in the clear, there is not chance that a Minnesota player is going to catch him. The final two defenders realize this and stop their pursuit as Grant heads into the end zone where he is showered with tortillas.
