No. 24 Danny Amendola (Inside Receiver 2004 – 2007)

Always reliable and seemingly in on every big play, Danny Amendola ranks as the 24th greatest Texas Tech player ever.

With 204 career receptions, the native of The Woodlands, TX is 9th on the Texas Tech all-time receptions list. In 2007, Amendola caught 109 passes, the second most for a Red Raider in one season. That season, he amassed 1,245 yards receiving (5th in school history) including 233 yards on 14 catches against Oklahoma State (the 8th best single game total in program history).

Amendola is also one of the greatest punt returners in school history. Returning 111 punts for 1,283 yards, Amendola averaged 11.1 yards per return ranking second in school history.

After leaving Texas Tech, the undersized receiver found his place at the next level. Amendola has 339 career receptions in the NFL for 3,187 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also scored a touchdown in the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl XLVIIII victory in 2015.
