No. 6 Michael Crabtree (Wide receiver 2006-2008)

Graham Harrell’s favorite target is the most talented football player in the modern era of Texas Tech football and the No. 6 player in program history.

The top wide receiver to ever play at Texas Tech set every school receiving record despite playing only two seasons of college football. Michael Crabtree is obviously a Red Raider legend for his numerous career achievements (231 receptions, 3,127 receiving yards and 41 touchdowns) and the national awards he was given. (He won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s best wide receiver in 2007 and 2008.)

But more than anything, Crabtree is chiseled into the lore of Texas Tech football for his game winning catch against Texas in 2008. The 29-yard touchdown grab with 7 seconds remaining is one of the most memorable plays in Big 12 history and it set off pandemonium never before seen in Jones Stadium.

Selected by San Francisco as the No. 10 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, Crabtree has over 5,000 yards and 31 touchdowns in his NFL career.
