No. 8 Breiden Fehoko INT vs. West Virginia

The 8th best play in the 2015 season didn’t lead to a Texas Tech victory but it was maybe the most amazing exhibition of athletic ability a Red Raider would put on all year.

Leading 24-17 late in the 3rd quarter, West Virginia quarterback Skylar Howard attempted a pass from his own 15. The ball bounced off of a receiver in the middle of the field and seemed to be floating as harmlessly down to earth as the tail feather of a dove.

But 300-pound Texas Tech freshman defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko sprung towards the ball and cradled it just before it hit the ground. There are few defensive tackles in college football capable of making such a play.

Looking at the interception, Fehoko leaps from the 13 and catches the ball at the 17 meaning he sprawled 12 feet horizontally to make the play. Again, remember that he is 300 pounds.

Unfortunately, Texas Tech would only turn the great field position into a field goal and would eventually lose the game 31-26 but Fehoko’s interception displays what a fantastic athlete the native Hawaiian is.
