The Best Recruit From Each of Kliff Kingsbury’s Classes At Texas Tech
Jack Anderson
In what has been a rarity for Texas Tech during the Kliff Kingsbury era, 2017’s most coveted recruit on paper looks to be its best on the field. Offensive lineman Jack Anderson from Frisco, Texas is not only one of the best linemen on the team this year, he could be one of the best in program history.
Anderson was a 4-star recruit who started every game as a true freshman. He was named a freshman All-American by ESPN and USA Today becoming the first freshman All-American at Texas Tech since 2013.
A Texas Tech legacy that was one of the first prospects to commit to Texas Tech in the 2017 recruiting cycle, his commitment never wavered. He had plenty of options with USC, Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, Kansas State, LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Stanford, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA all offering him a scholarship.
Fortunately, Anderson followed his roots to Texas Tech. Last season, he helped the Red Raiders improve their rushing output by 40 yards per game.
There are other members of the 2017 class that appear to have solid futures. Linebacker Riko Jeffers, defensive end Nelson Mbanasor, offensive tackle Will Farrar and defensive back Adrian Frye all have caught the eye of the Texas Tech coaching staff and look to have bright futures.
