Texas Tech basketball: 3 Things to know about Baylor
Baylor is the worst 3-point shooting team in the Big 12
No team in the Big 12 shoots the 3-pointer at a lower rate than Baylor. Hitting only 31.3% from deep, the Bears may find it tough to score against the second-best 3-point defense in the nation. Tech is allowing opponents to hit just 25.2%.

The one player Tech must keep an eye on from behind the arc is King McClure. The 6-foot-3 senior from Dallas is a 39.5% shooter from deep and leads the team with 32 3’s on the season.
He is coming off of a 29-point outburst in Baylor’s 73-69 win over Oklahoma State on Monday. In that game, he knocked down 7-11 shots from deep as only two of his field goals were of the two-point variety.
On five occasions he has hit at least three 3’s and will be the player Tech must not give open looks too. After McClure, Makai Mason (Baylors leading scorer) is the next-best long-range shooter on the team at 34.2% having hit 25 3’s thus far.
But though Baylor does not shoot well from deep, they are not afraid to lit it fly. They have shot the fifth-most 3’s in the league and 39.3% of their shot attempts come from deep.
The Red Raiders must make it a point to contest every look from 3-point range. Baylor is a team that is outmatched with their best player on sidelined so one way they can pull off the upset is to get hot from deep. Keep an eye on not only how many 3’s Baylor makes tonight but pay attention to what percentage of their shots come from deep because that will tell you which team is dictating the style of play.
