WR: Wes Welker, Joel Filani, Robert Johnson, Antoine Wesley

As is the case with every other all-time roster we have put together this week, the out of state team would be loaded at wide receiver.  This group would feature some of the most productive and popular pass catchers to ever don the Double-T.

Oklahoma City native Wes Welker is the obvious headliner of this group.  He totaled 3,069 career receiving yards (third all-time in program history) and 259 receptions (second in program history).  With 21 touchdown receptions from 2000-2003, he is tied for 9th in Red Raider history as well.

Welker was also one of the top punt returners in NCAA history.  He finished his career as the NCAA leader in punt return touchdowns (8) and yards (1,761).

In the other slot would be Robert Johnson, another JUCO product.  The former 5-star JUCO QB signee from Americus, Georgia converted to inside receiver and amassed 1,822 yards and 15 touchdowns combined in 2005-06.

On the outside would be a pair of tall wide receivers that proved to be big-play threats.  That list begins with current Texas Tech receivers coach Joel Filani.  From 2003-06 the Arizona native caught 175 passes for 2,626 yards and 23 touchdowns.

The two-time All-Big 12 selection still ranks in the top ten in program history in touchdowns receptions and receiving yards.  Hopefully, he can help his current protegees become as good of players as he was.

Rounding out this foursome is Antoine Wesley, a native of Las Vegas (though he finished his high school career at Cibolo Steele H.S.).  Though he started for only one season at Tech, he made quite the mark by catching 88 balls for 1,410 yards (3rd-most in a season for any Red Raider).

This receiving group is as good as any team could hope to have.  These out of state stars are proof that high school recruits across the country want to come to Lubbock to play for the program that has become synonymous with wide receivers.
