OL: Paul Stawarz, Rylan Reed, Brandon Jones, Matt Heider, Rashad Fortenberry

Setting the tone up front for the out of state team would be a big, physical offensive line.

At center would be Paul Stawarz from Channahon, Illinois.  From 2016-18 the JUCO signee started 31 games earning All-Big 12 honorable mention recognition in 2017.

From Crossett, Arkansas (but born in Dallas) comes Rylan Reed, who once set the program’s bench press record at 625 pounds.  Recruited as a tight end, the 6-foot-7, 305-pounder enrolled at Tech in 2004 after a minor league baseball career and a battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.  A two-year starter in 2007-08, he was a first-team All-Big 12 selection as a senior.

Playing his high school football in Keizer, Oregon after spending a significant part of his childhood in Texas, Brandon Jones joins the out of state roster.  The 6-foot-4, 316-pounder was a 22-game starter at center and honorable-mention All-Big 12 in 2005 as a junior.

From 1998-01, Roswell, New Mexico’s Matt Heider was a staple along the interior of the Red Raider line.  He earned honorable mention all-conference recognition following his junior and senior seasons.

Finally, we have Tylertown, Mississippi offensive tackle Rashad Fortenberry.  The JUCO transfer started 25 games at Tech from 2012-14.

On the 2019 roster, you will find offensive tackle Zach Adams from Fredericksburg, Virginia.  With Tech set to graduate both tackles this year, the 6-foot-6, 320-pounder could be in line to start for the first time as a Red Raider in 2020, his senior season.
