Alan Bowman will pass for 450 or more yards

Arizona’s secondary is suspect.  Alan Bowman’s right arm is not.  Arizona’s pass rush is non-existent.  Alan Bowman’s proficiency is not.

That all should add up to a huge day for the sophomore QB who is making just his third career road start.  Look for Bowman to throw for at least 450 yards tonight, which would be a season-high.

Bowman entered this week in the top 5 nationally in passing yards despite a pedestrian 260-yard outing against UTEP last week.  And because last week’s offensive showing was so inspired, look for Bowman and his cohorts on that side of the ball to be focused and sharp tonight.

They may have to be in order to come up with a win.  That’s because Arizona is averaging over 51 points per game.

Still, Zona let a pair of Hawaii QBs combine for 436 yards in the air and Case Cookus of Northern Arizona to pass for 373.  That should have Bowman licking his chops.

Should the Grapevine, TX native surpass 450 yards, it would be his second-most prolific game as a Red Raider.  Against Houston last year, he set a Big 12 freshman record with 603 yards and in week one this year against Montana State he had 436.  The only other time he topped the 400-yard mark was last October against Kansas.

Look for another big game tonight.  This is an Arizona team that has been carved up through the air by players nowhere near the caliber of Tech’s rising star QB which means Bowman’s right arm will get plenty of work tonight.
