No. 3: @ Iowa State

In the final win of the season for the Red Raiders, McCullar made his presence known more on the glass than on the scoreboard.  While his six points were a nice effort, he had a game-high eleven rebounds in his team’s 87-57 win at Iowa State.

In all that day, the Red Raiders won the rebounding battle 34-30 and held an edge of nine on the defensive glass.  That was due in large part to McCullar’s eight defensive boards.

Rebounding was an underrated aspect of his game this year.  While his 3.2 rebounds per game were just sixth on the team, he was fourth on the team by averaging one offensive board per game.

Keep in mind that Tech will lose its top two rebounders this offseason in grad transfers Chris Clarke and T.J. Holyfield and could lose its fourth-leading rebounder, Ramsey, to the NBA Draft. Therefore, McCullar’s ability to do work on the glass could be even more important next season.

Eight times this year, he managed to grab at least five rebounds.  All of those came against either a Big 12 team, Louisville, or Kentucky.  That shows just how tough of a rebounder he is being as he’s more than willing to battle on the boards against the toughest of competition.
