Texas Tech football: A first look at Houston Baptist
The HBU defense is atrocious
This is the perfect defense for Alan Bowman to make his return to the field against. That’s because the Huskies are coming off of a week in which they gave up 721 yards to an offense led by a QB making his first career start.

North Texas QB Jason Bean wasn’t asked to do all that much in his debut as a starter but he was able to complete 11 of 18 passes for 217 yards and three TDs to go along with an INT. In all, the Eagle QBs went 21-34 for 361 yards and 4 scores against the Huskies.
But it was on the ground where North Texas really dominated the action. Rushing for 360 yards on 52 carries, Seth Littrell’s team averaged 6.9 yards per carry and found paydirt four times.
Thus, think about the type of day the Red Raider RBs could have against HBU this weekend, especially SaRodorick Thompson. Last year as a redshirt freshman, the Irving, Texas native ran for 765 yards and 12 scores with five games of at least 80 yards. And being as each of those games came against Big 12 opponents, we would have to assume he will have his way with the Huskies.
The 2019 defense HBU defense gave up an average of 496 yards per game. They managed to surrender that and so much more to the Eagles this past weekend so it is hard to envision them offering much resistance to the Texas Tech offense on Saturday.
