The really thrilling ride that Gerry Glasco and the Texas Tech softball team are on right now is about to get really interesting. The Texas Tech Red Raiders are no doubt a bit of an underdog when you look at the program history and the way that they’ve never been in this sort of position before. And I think that’s great. The Red Raiders are THRIVING in this role.

But they’re about to go up against one of the blue bloods in college softball. A much more accomplished program, at least historically speaking, that is. The UCLA Bruins are waiting for the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the winner’s bracket of the 2025 Women’s College World Series.

Game 8 of the 2025 WCWS is between the Bruins and the Red Raiders. These two teams come from very different worlds and it’s going to be fun to see how things shake out when they meet up.

How to watch 2025 Women’s College World Series game 8: Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. UCLA Bruins in Oklahoma City

Let’s go over what you need to know to keep up with the Red Raiders as they battle the Bruins in hopes of staying in the winner’s bracket during the 2025 WCWS:

  • Who: No. 12 seed Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. No. 9 seed UCLA Bruins
  • What: Game 7 of the 2025 Women’s College World Series
  • When: Saturday, May 30 at 6 p.m. CT
  • Where: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Venue: OGE Energy Field at Devon Park
  • TV channel: ESPN
  • Live stream: Watch ESPN
  • Live stats: NCAA

It’s worth noting that whichever team loses in this contest, their season isn’t over just yet. While it is ALWAYS a good thing to keep winning and avoid losing, the loser of this game will bounce on over to the elimination bracket and have some more chances to stay alive in Oklahoma City.

All of that said, I, for one, would greatly appreciate it if Texas Tech just got the win here. Make things easy for all of us. Don’t make us stressed and apprehensive. Win. Move on to and stay in the winner’s bracket. Get in a much better position to advance on to the WCWS finals! Is that too much to ask for?
