After sweeping cleanly through the 2025 Lubbock Regional, it’s time for the next step of the 2025 NCAA softball tournament for Texas Tech

That’s right, folks. The Tallahassee Super Regional is just about upon us and it’s time to start familiarizing ourselves with the Florida State Seminoles. Grab something to take a few notes and let’s go over a little bit of homework.

We’re taking a look at a few FSU softball stars that could present problems for Gerry Glasco’s Texas Tech Red Raiders as Tech tries to move on to Oklahoma City.

Ashtyn Danley is a problem for opposing hitters and might cause some headaches for Tech in Tallahassee

The Red Raiders will certainly need to keep an eye on Ashtyn Danley over the next few days as the dominant Florida State pitcher could certainly be a problem for Texas Tech during the 2025 Tallahassee Super Regional.

This season, Danley has amassed a team leading 14-1 win-loss record and is able to boast about a 1.58 ERA. And while FSU has a number of really impressive pitchers, Danley has been the one the Seminoles have relied upon the most as she’s pitched 101.2 innings so far this season. During that time in the circle, Danley has managed to strike out 73 opposing batters.

While that strikeout count may not be the most impressive number ever, it’s clear that Danley is solid and opposing batters have just a .242 batting average against her.

OH! And I absolutely should note that Danley is a pretty versatile player. She doesn’t have a ton of at bats, but right now Danley does have a .386 batting average and has managed to hit a couple of home runs (exactly two home runs) and has 14 RBIs so far this season.

Speaking of really impressive pitchers, Jazzy Francik has been dominant for FSU

While she hasn’t spent as much time pitching as Danley has so far this season, Francik has been really effective. In the 89.1 innings she’s pitched up to this point, Francik has been able to strike out 84 batters, which is pretty solid.

Along with that, Francik has managed to limit opposing hitters to a paltry .191 batting average and she’s also got a 1.57 ERA and a 10-3 win-loss record. Those are some pretty solid numbers to be able to brag about.

Something interesting in her stats though is the fact that Francik has also recorded eight saves on the season. FSU’s pitching staff is so well rounded and so deep that they have the luxury to be able to turn to Francik whenever it’s time for a change of pace and it’s clear that Francik is able to thrive in just about any sort of situation.

Katie Dack is a proficient home run hitter and that scares me a little bit

She doesn’t have the best batting average on her team. She doesn’t have the most at bats or the best on base percentage. However. What Katie Dack does have is the most home runs on FSU’s roster. And that’s pretty impressive given how many really strong hitters the Seminoles have this season.

Dack leads FSU with 15 home runs so far this season and she’s also managed to drive in 51 runs. To go on top of that, Dack has a .347 batting average AND a .714 slugging percentage. She’s really, really good when she’s making contact with the ball.

Something else of note?

Dack has managed to draw the second most walks of anyone on the Florida State softball team so far this season as she’s been given a free pass to first on 27 different occasions. Pitchers are careful around Dack and Dack sure seems to be pretty patient with pitchers. That’s a fascinating combination and it admittedly worries me a little.
