Well, the head coach of the Texas Tech men’s basketball team is in the news. And before you start panicking, it’s not that bad. All this has to do with is apparently a college basketball blue blood would like his services as their head coach.

No big deal or anything.

As the North Carolina Tar Heels continue their attempt at finding a new head coach after firing Hubert Davis, Grant McCasland’s name has been linked to the coaching search. Which isn’t ideal, but it doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

Not yet, at least. And there’s a chance it never means anything. There’s a chance that all this is from McCasland’s agent and North Carolina is that his name and potential candidacy is being used for negotiations. I don’t know. What I do know is that we’ve got McCasland’s name in some coaching search news.

Here’s what college basketball fans had to say as the head coach of the Texas Tech men’s basketball program was linked to the head coaching search for the Tar Heels.

Texas Tech fans don’t seem to love the idea, but yeah, I’m not sure the North Carolina coaching search will continue to the point where McCasland is the guy that they land on.

Also, apparently Arizona wants him? Which feels weird? That one feels a lot less likely.

Oh, that’s one way to view the end of the Texas Tech men’s basketball season. I mean, I guess that’s a silver lining to this situation?

We’ll see what happens and how it all plays out. I tend to be in the camp of “the North Carolina coaching search will probably play out and they’ll get a coach before McCasland is put in the position to say yes or no for the job” as this all continues.
