This evening, in Oklahoma City, the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the UCLA Bruins are trying to stay alive in the Women’s College World Series. In the second of two elimination games, the Texas Tech softball team is looking to find a way to beat the Bruins and advance on in the WCWS bracket.

That’ll be easier said than done.

Texas Tech got the Women’s College World Series with an 8-0 run-rule win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs but then suffered a huge setback by losing 2-1 to the Tennessee Lady Volunteers. UCLA got its time in Oklahoma City started by losing to the Alabama Crimson Tide and then the Bruins bounced back by run-ruling (and eliminating) Arkansas by a score of 11-0.

So Texas Tech is facing a team that has a bit more momentum right now.

Along with that, the Red Raiders will need to find a way to cool one of the hottest hitting teams in the country. Can Texas Tech’s pitching staff with a 2.09 team ERA take down a team that has hit 206 home runs this season?

Texas Tech softball vs UCLA Bruins: How to watch the 2026 Women’s College World Series elimination game

Here’s what you need to know to keep up with the Red Raiders as they try to eliminate the Bruins in the Women’s College World Series:

  • Who: Texas Tech Red Raiders (58-8) vs UCLA Bruins (53-9)
  • What: Women’s College World Series - Game 10 - Elimination game
  • When: Sunday, May 31 at 6 p.m. CT
  • Where: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Venue: OGE Energy Field at Devon Park
  • TV channel: ESPN
  • Live stream: ESPN.com/watch

If the Red Raiders really want to show the world that they’re a legitimate national title contender, beating the UCLA Bruins would certainly help with that cause. Texas Tech finding a way to take down UCLA and keep the Bruins from advancing to the WCWS semifinals would be huge.

Plus, it would put Texas Tech just one step closer to making it back to the Women’s College World Series finals. Given that this is just the second time that the Red Raiders have been in Oklahoma City, it’d really show some impressive (and rapid) program growth for Texas Tech softball.
