A way-too-early ranking of the top 10 Big 12 running backs ahead of 2024 season
Though he started just three games for WVU last season, Jahiem White still racked up 842 yards to lead the Mountaineers' dominant ground game. He also was tops in the conference by averaging 7.7 yards per carry.
White didn't find the endzone much. Because of Donaldson's ability to pick up scores in short-yardage situations, he only had four TDs himself.
White had three 100-yard games last season. In each, he averaged at least 7.8 yards per carry and in one, against BYU, he averaged 9.1 yards per carry. What's more, he ran for 204 yards on 21 carries (9.7 yards per carry) against Cincinnati.
However, at other times, he disappeared. Against Texas Tech, he had only six yards on one carry. Against TCU he had only five rushes for 46 yards. Oklahoma held him to 39 yards on nine carries and North Carolina kept him to 50 yards on 12 rushes. Thus, it seems that White is not quite ready to be a featured back in the Big 12.
