Final Four

Overall Record: 1-0

In the 2019 Final Four, Texas Tech and Michigan State played one of the least aesthetically pleasing games in recent Final Four history. However, no one in Lubbock minded as the Red Raiders hung on for a 61-51 win.

That night in Minneapolis, Tech managed to shoot only 43.1% from the floor. Still, it was enough as the suffocating Red Raider defense forced the Spartans to shoot 31.9% overall.

The star of the night for Texas Tech was Matt Mooney. Scoring 22 points, he showed up on the biggest of stages.

The grad transfer was 8-16 from the floor and 4-8 from 3-point range on a night when points were a delicacy. Meanwhile, Jarrett Culver would drain a late 3-pointer as the shot clock wound down to give Tech an insurmountable lead in one of the most iconic moments in program history. It was his only 3-pointer of the game and he had only 10 points that night but he came through in the most timely of manners.

National Championship Game

Overall Record: 0-1

We still don't talk about the 2019 National Championship Game around here. If Tariq Owens had been healthy after rolling his ankle in the Final Four, Tech would have won by ten points or more. End of story.
