In what was one of the most lopsided Big 12 series of the college softball season, the Texas Tech Red Raiders managed to deliver three truly dominant performances in back-to-back-to-back wins. All throughout the weekend, the Texas Tech softball team had complete and total control over the Cyclones and they managed to outscore Iowa State by 27 runs in the process.

For Texas Tech, this weekend had a little bit of everything for Red Raider fans to sit back and enjoy. Offensive firepower and some run-rule wins, dominant pitching depth (featuring the trio of NiJaree Canady, Kaitlyn Terry, and Samantha Lincoln), and then a building of momentum towards what this season might become.

Texas Tech fans are right to be excited about just how far Gerry Glasco and the Texas Tech softball team can go this season.

Texas Tech softball fans celebrated as the Red Raiders completed their 3-game home sweep of the Iowa State Cyclones

Here’s what Texas Tech fans had to say after seeing the Red Raiders secure the 3-game sweep of the Cyclones on Sunday:

Texas Tech fans are right to be impressed by the way the Red Raiders performed in this game (and also all throughout the series). This is a weekend in which the Texas Tech softball team had complete and total control over how things went and that was certainly evident on Sunday.

And this 17-6 win was such an impressive culmination of what Texas Tech had been building to all throughout the weekend. The Red Raiders managed to outscore the Cyclones 36-9 over the three games they played. Average that out and that’s a 12-3 win per game against Iowa State. That’s not bad.

Glasco and the Red Raiders look dominant and like they’re ready to make another run to the Women’s College World Series this year. And if Texas Tech can keep this up, we might be looking at a team that could win it all for the Red Raiders.
