Texas Tech fans react as coveted Big 12 quarterback from Texas enters transfer portal

Well, it really looks like the Texas Tech Red Raiders will need a bit of help at quarterback next season and it seems like some Texas Tech football fans are hoping that Joey McGuire, Mack Leftwich, and James Blanchard are interested in a quarterback on another Big 12 team.

Or, well, he was with another Big 12 team.

Brendan Sorsby (originally from the Dallas area who started his career with the Indiana Hoosiers and then moved on to the Cincinnati Bearcats) is back in the transfer portal in search of his next team.

And there are plenty of Texas Tech football fans who are interested in what Sorsby could do for the Red Raiders. It’s hard to blame them. Sorsby has thrown for 7208 yards and 60 touchdowns against 18 interceptions while also running for 1305 yards and 22 touchdowns throughout his career. 

He’s a fascinating talent and he can go out and choose where he wants to spend the remainder of his college career. That’s intrigued more than just a few Texas Tech fans.

Here’s how Texas Tech fans are feeling about the possibility of getting Sorsby out of the transfer portal and into Lubbock:

If McGuire, Leftwich, and Blanchard are truly interested in getting Sorsby to move back home to the Lone Star State, then it does seem likely that the Red Raiders would be throwing a fair bit of money in the quarterback’s direction.

There are a ton of Texas Tech fans who would love to see Sorsby in Lubbock and they’re certainly going to make that known.

Okay, yeah, this isn’t a Texas Tech fan. To be honest, I didn’t know the Lasik eye surgery procedure had a social media presence, but now I do know that and I don’t know what to do with this knowledge.

Given his talent, Sorsby would be a really interesting fit within Leftwich’s veer-and-shoot offense and it’d be a blast to see him in Lubbock with the offensive talent that the Red Raiders would pair him with at the various different skill positions.

Combine that with the fact that Texas Tech now knows how to field incredibly dangerous defenses and it’d be great if Sorsby would indeed end up in Lubbock.
