Saturday in Lubbock, the Texas Tech football team suffered one of the worst losses of the Joey McGuire era. The 59-35 home defeat to Baylor humbled the Red Raiders and dropped them to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in Big 12 play.

It was an odd performance from the Red Raiders in the sense that very rarely during McGuire's time in charge have they completely no-showed in a game. When Tech has lost in the past three years, there have been reasons why such as a QB injury, the absence of RB Tahj Brooks, or simply being outclassed by the opponent.

On Saturday, though, Tech came out of the locker room listless on both sides of the ball and never showed a ton of fight, especially in the second half. And of course, Texas Tech fans are angry about what took place at Jones Stadium.

It isn't just that the Red Raiders lost. Most reasonable fans had no delusions of seeing this flawed team run the table through the Big 12 schedule this year.

However, to come off of an open week and play so poorly and so lifelessly in all three phases of the game was more than disappointing, it was maddening. Tech was dominated by a Baylor team that had not previously won a Big 12 game nor beaten a team from a power conference this year.

So to suggest that Red Raider fans are angry, humbled, humiliated, and stunned all at once is fair. Of course, they took to social media after the game to work out their feelings. Here are some of the best posts to help numb the pain.

As you can see, the Red Raider fan base is not coping well with today's meltdown. Next week takes McGuire and Co. to Fort Worth for another emotional game against TCU. It will be interesting to see how Texas Tech responds and how the fans handle another Saturday against a school that there is no love lost for.
