After a chippy series in the Super Regional against the Florida Gators, the Texas Tech Red Raiders are back in the Women's College World Series. A year after a National Championship appearance, the Red Raiders are back in the big series, working to try and capture that title.
The Red Raiders fell to Texas in the National Championship a year ago, and after some pick pickups int he transfer portal, Texas Tech was able to make it to a Regional and Super Regional. It wasn't quite the caliber season the Red Raiders were hoping for, but in the end, they made it back to the Women's College World Series.
After cruising through the Regional, Texas Tech met Florida in the Gainesville Super Regional in what felt like a really close matchup. The Gators had the offense while the Red Raiders had the pitching. It ended up being an offensive outing for both teams as the bats were hot and the pitching struggled on both sides.
There was also a lot of drama and chippiness going on with both teams chirping, and second baseman Mia Williams on the bad end of five hit-by-pitches against her former team. Even after Texas Tech was victorious, Florida refused to shake hands after the game, prompting even more from the Red Raiders.
With a WCWS ticket in their hand, the Red Raiders now have new odds for winning it all, and it won't make them or the fans very happy.

Texas Tech sits in the middle of the pack of the eight teams in the WCWS, tied with Nebraska at +500 odds to win it all. This is just even more fuel for this team to make it back to the big series, and this time hopefully come out on the winning end.
Pitching is going to have to look sharper than it has all postseason, with NiJaree Canady and Kaitlyn Terry both getting beaten up quite a bit, especially in the Supers. The bats will look to stay hot as Texas Tech will be facing some big offenses and quality pitching, all starting with the giant slayer, Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs did what many thought was impossible and took down Oklahoma, handing them their first Super Regional loss since 2015, and their first time missing the WCWS since then as well. It will be an electric matchup between two teams that many don't believe belong, just adding even more of a chip on the shoulder of the Red Raiders.
