Gerry Glasco and the Texas Tech Red Raiders got a pretty important win on Thursday. When the Texas Tech softball team met up with the Ole Miss Rebels, Glasco and the Red Raiders happened to snag a win that really moves Tech into a much better position as TTU tries to compete for a national championship.
And to be completely fair and transparent, it’s worth remembering that college softball can definitely be a little chaotic, we don’t know exactly who will end up losing, and things could certainly change in a hurry as it pertains to Texas Tech’s chances of making it into the finals series.
But, a win over Ole Miss to get things started for Texas Tech?
That, folks, is really good news. It’s a great start to this trip to Oklahoma City and the 2025 Women’s College World Series. Now it’s just worth wondering how the Red Raiders can keep things up and what’s up ahead for TTU.
So, what does the bracket look like now as the Red Raiders beat the Rebels?
How does Texas Tech’s win over Ole Miss in the Women’s College World Series impact the 2025 bracket?
Things look pretty good for Texas Tech right now. Let’s check out their spot in the Women’s College World Series bracket right now:
The Ole Miss Rebels are down in the elimination bracket along with the Oregon Ducks after their respective losses to the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the UCLA Bruins. Which, speaking of Texas Tech and UCLA, those two teams will get to meet up on Saturday in the evening game.
As I’ve said elsewhere, wins are better than losses. Texas Tech is in a pretty good spot. The Bruins are also in a fairly decent spot as well. You know who isn’t in a good spot? Any of the teams in the elimination bracket. That’s a tough place to win in. There’s just little margin for error for those folks.
