Lil’Jordan Humphrey

3-star athlete, Southlake, TX

Another star from the fabled Southlake Carroll Dragons’ high school program, Humphrey has a long list of suitors. Including Texas Tech, the 6-foot-4, 200-pounder who played running back for the Dragons has offers from California, Texas, Colorado, Duke, Iowa, Ole’ Miss, Washington and Wisconsin.

The big kid with the unusual name is being recruited to play wide receiver at Texas Tech where there is a never-ending search for 6-foot-3 or taller pass-catchers. As of now, Humphrey lists Texas Tech in his top two but that situation seems fluid.

Red Raider assistant coaches Eric Morris and Emmett Jones are keeping in touch with Humphrey on a daily basis but there is strong competition from another Big 12 school from the Lone Star State.

Texas and Charlie Strong are also in heavy pursuit of the talented athlete and right now he seems to be intrigued by what the Longhorns have to offer. However, logic would suggest that Texas Tech has a better offensive scheme, offensive coaching staff and (most importantly) a much better quarterback so those factors could win Humphrey over. Plus, Humphrey may want to join his high school teammate Farrar in Lubbock (but that is pure speculation on my part).

Right now it looks like a toss up between Texas Tech and the Horns for Humphries. But look out for Wisconsin as a dark horse. Don’t be surprised if this recruit doesn’t make his decision until signing day.
