8. Horned Frogs n’ Heartaches

The scene couldn’t have been any more perfect: red uniforms, a raucous atmosphere, and a top five opponent (a rival to boot).

Texas Tech and Texas Christian traded blows throughout the entirety of the game; in some instances the Horned Frogs seemed poised to break away, while in others the Red Raiders threatened to sneak out the victory.

But this would be all for naught, as the final call was decided on a heartbreaking tipped-ball touchdown for the Horned Frogs.

Imagine finding out that you won the lottery. The music starts playing, the confetti comes down, and a sequin-clad lady hands you a giant check.

Now imagine having that ridiculously large check ripped away as you’re told that your winning ticket was left in that old pair of jeans that you sold on craigslist for ten bucks.

That’s pretty much how every fan at Jones AT&T stadium felt when Texas Christian’s Aaron Green came down with the ball in the end zone. Never mind the earlier two-point conversion by Texas Christian that actually wasn’t, or even Texas Tech’s complete inability to locate Josh Doctson at times.

It still sucks.
