WR Troy Omeire – Ft. Bend, TX

Texas Tech and wide receivers go together like tumbleweeds and wind.  And in the class of 2020, one of Tech’s top pass-catching targets is 4-star Troy Omeire from Ft. Bend, TX.  The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder is the No. 20 receiver in the nation and the No. 10 player in Texas.

His impressive offer list includes, Tech, Texas, A&M, Ohio State, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon and several others.  In 2018, he caught 46 passes for 804 yards and 13 touchdowns.

In December, Texas Tech was included in Omeire’s top-10 schools indicating that he has at least some interest in coming to Lubbock.  But Tech will have to fight off some of the most elite programs in the nation to win this recruiting battle.

In all, Tech has extended offers to nine of the top 100 receivers in the nation including the No. 3 receiver in the class, Demond Demas, a Texas A&M commit.  But it seems like Omeire is the most realistic option if Tech is to land one of the class’ premier pass catchers.

Tech is in great shape at wide receiver with T.J. Vasher being just a junior and players such as Erik Ezukanma and Myllar Royals set to be just redshirt freshmen this season.  But that should not stop Wells from trying to add a potential program-changer like Omeire.  Hopefully, he will be the next star to come to “Wide Receiver U”.
