Cody Campbell may not play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders anymore, but it sure looks like he is a little more than just kinda committed to seeing the Texas Tech football program thrive in just about every possible way.
The former Red Raider lineman turned billionaire businessman turned chairman of the Texas Tech University board of regents has found ways to support the Texas Tech athletics department and elevate it in a number of different significant ways.
And now Campbell is demonstrating that his support and the momentum behind this program isn’t going anywhere.
After 5-star transfer quarterback Brendan Sorsby made it clear that he was leaving the Cincinnati Bearcats behind to move back to his home state of Texas to play for Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Campbell took to social media to make it more than clear that the Red Raiders will keep building for the future.
Cody Campbell notes that Texas Tech is committed to building a dynasty after the Red Raiders land 5-star quarterback Brendan Sorsby
In his post, Campbell stated that after all the success the Red Raiders had throughout this season, that Texas Tech wants more and is “building a dynasty.” After making it clear that he and others are committed to the Red Raiders, Campbell explained what that sort of commitment could lead to.
That includes a loaded roster, a great coaching staff, and the best facilities in the country.
Let’s goooo! Texas Tech got a taste this year, want more, and are building a dynasty. We are hungrier and more committed than ever before!

Each Texas Tech player will be surrounded and supported by an elite cast of teammates, a sound culture and program, a solid and stable… https://t.co/QCwAza8R7w
With the way that Campbell and several other wealthy donors backing the Red Raider football program have helped raise the ceiling on this program, I’m fully buying that he and others are all in on making this happen.
And getting a talented quarterback like Sorsby in this recruiting class to transfer in after Texas Tech went 12-2 and fell short because of some hiccups on offense feels significant. The Red Raiders don’t intend to just fade into obscurity and Campbell apparently is ready and able to keep Texas Tech in the national conversation.
It’s going to be fun to see what else happens with the transfer portal over the next few days and who else the Red Raiders might pick up.
