Another game in the 2025 Women’s College World Series, another win for the Texas Tech softball team, and another show of support from one of the greatest Texas Tech Red Raiders ever. The Red Raiders are staying alive and are still perfect and Patrick Mahomes sure seems thrilled with the way Texas Tech just took down the juggernaut that is the Oklahoma Sooners.

And Mahomes certainly has every reason to celebrate right now. After Texas Tech led all game against the Oklahoma Sooners, the Red Raiders gave up a two-run home run with two outs (and a 2-0 lead over OU) in the top of the 7th inning.

The game was tied in one of the most disappointing and frustrating ways possible. It started to seem like Texas Tech would need extra innings to end Oklahoma’s string of championship seasons (the Red Raiders have won four in a row, by the way).

But, in the bottom of the 7th inning, the Red Raiders were able to get a couple of baserunners on and then put the game away in a beautiful walk off win.

And Mahomes, like the rest of us, took to celebrating. As he absolutely should.

My favorite thing about this newest Mahomes tweet is that he continues to, essentially, use the same tweet over and over again as he watches the Red Raiders softball team. Truly, unironically, I love it. I’m absolutely here for it.

Why?

Well, I’m not really all that superstitious or anything along those lines, but, I mean, that sort of “Let’s Gooo” tweet is working. And if something is working, you keep doing it until it won’t work anymore. Texas Tech hasn’t lost a game in the WCWS yet. Patrick, please keep this going. Celebrate that same way as often as you possibly can.
