Right Guard:

Starter: Louis Vasquez

The top right guard on the Texas Tech all-time roster is the mammoth guard from Corsicana, TX, Louis Vasquez. At 6-foot4, 335-pounds, Vasquez was part of the best (and biggest) offensive lines in Texas Tech history, the 2008 group that protected Texas Tech’s all-time leading passer, Graham Harrell.

The three-year starter was an all-Big 12 selection in 2007 and honorable mention all-American as a senior in 2008. Vasquez was a third-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft and currently plays for the Denver Broncos with which he won the 2013 AFC Title.

Backup: Manny Ramirez

Starting 46 games in a row at Texas Tech, Manny Ramirez was a crucial member of four bowl teams. The 2006 all-Big 12 honorable mention guard set the Texas Tech school record by bench-pressing 550 pounds. The 2007 4th round NFL draft pick of the Detroit Lions was a member of the 2013 AFC Champion Denver Broncos staring for Denver in Super Bowl XLVIII.
