For the first time in *checks notes* a couple of years, we’ll get to see the Texas Tech football team face off against a Big 12 foe that they’ve been able to find success against on a very regular basis throughout the history of their series.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders haven’t really struggled with the Kansas Jayhawks historically. To be completely honest and fair to everyone involved, it’s not like many high level college football teams have had issues when facing off against the Jayhawks.
The two teams didn’t get to play each other last season, and historically they haven’t actually faced each other on that many occasions. There is a decent sample size with this series, but it’s not a longstanding rivalry between these two teams.
All that said, this season, Texas Tech will get the opportunity to take on the Jayhawks and the Red Raiders will look to build on their winning streak against Kansas.
2025 Texas Tech football schedule: When will the Red Raiders face the Kansas Jayhawks?
So, when are the Red Raiders going to face off against Kansas? Well, one week after traveling down to Houston to take on the Cougars in the Bayou City, Texas Tech will return home to meet up with the Jayhakws.
Kansas will be coming to town on Saturday, October 11th. While we don’t currently have a kickoff time for this matchup, at least we happen to know the date that these two teams will play one another. And hopefully we’ll get to see the Red Raiders build upon their recent success against the Jayhawks.
Texas Tech has won four games in a row (after losing in a really weird and embarrassing way back in 2019) and this home game will give Joey McGuire and the Red Raiders a chance to continue building momentum in conference play.
