We’re now on to Day 3 of the 2025 Women’s College World Series! Day 2 featured a couple of elimination game matchups (shoutout to the Tennessee Lady Vols, the Florida Gators, Oregon Ducks, and the Ole Miss Rebels for competing on Friday). Day 3 will get us back into the winner’s bracket.
So what does that mean exactly?
Well, we’ve got a couple of games lined up for today. And while these games have some pretty high stakes, the losers of the games on today’s slate won’t be headed home like the Florida Gators and Ole Miss Rebels are.
Instead, they’ll drop down on over to the elimination bracket and will compete against a team from what was on the original other side of the bracket from them. Long story short: nobody’s season is ending today with a loss. That should bring a bit of comfort to folks who might be a bit nervous.
All of that said, winning is always better than losing and the winners of these games will need just one more win to get into the Women’s College World Series championship series. The loser will have to win three more games.
Again and always. Winning is better than losing.
2025 Women’s College World Series schedule: Day 3
Let’s go over what the schedule for today looks like:
Game 7 of the 2025 Women’s College World series will be at 2 p.m. Central Time as the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns meet up in Oklahoma City. Rivalry games are always great. They get even better when there are championship stakes on the line. And that’s the case here. You can catch this game on ABC.
Later in the day, we’ll get to watch the Texas Tech Red Raiders face off against the UCLA Bruins in Game 8 of the 2025 WCWS. The Red Raiders and Bruins will meet up at 6 p.m. Central Time and it’ll be fun to see how these two programs stack up against one another.
Again, the losers won’t be going home, but their chances of winning a championship do get a bit slimmer. So, you know, hope for a win for your favorite team. Don’t panic over a loss, but really hope that things work out in your favor.
