Like the Texas Tech Red Raiders, the Ole Miss Rebels softball team made its first ever trip to Oklahoma City and the Women’s College World Series this season. To be completely honest, it’s probably fair to say that the Rebels overachieved a little bit to get to OKC. We’re talking about a team that got hot at the absolute right moment and rode momentum to make the 2025 women’s College world Series.

And that’s not a knock on Ole Miss! That’s not trying to take away from the fact that they earned their spot in Oklahoma City.

It’s just that the Rebels had some struggles through various different parts of the season and then hit a hot streak to get to OKC. They should celebrate that. That’s worth bragging about. Especially since it resulted in their first ever trip to the Women’s College World Series.

Let’s take a look at the road Ole Miss took to make it to this point in the season.

2025 Women’s College World Series team profile: How did the Ole Miss Rebels make it to Oklahoma City?

Things started off pretty solid early on in the Paradise Classic down in Florida as Ole Miss got the season started with a ranked win over the Clemson Tigers. The Rebels lost a few games here and there, including to the Southern Miss Golden Eagles and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, but they then got on a winning streak that carried them into early March and included a series win over Arkansas.

March and April featured a few up and down moments for Ole Miss here and there. The Rebels lost a few SEC series against the likes of South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs, but they also managed to get a series win over Georgia and shocked folks in the SEC softball tournament.

In the Tucson Regional, the Rebels handed the Arizona Wildcats a couple of defeats before heading on to Fayetteville where Ole Miss took two of three from Arkansas in the Super Regionals. And that set the Rebels up to make it to Oklahoma City for the first time ever.
